In my opinion, Mayo Clinic’s website it by far the most comprehensive resource for medical and wellness information to assist people in managing their health. There is a wealth of expert information throughout their website which I find very easy to navigate. Their articles are well written, informative, educational and written for consumers. If you are searching for information on disease, symptoms, testing and procedures, drugs and supplements, first aid or healthy living, make sure the Mayo Clinic is your first stop.
International Council on Active Aging – This association is primarily for Active Aging professionals although this are great resources for consumers as well. This link will take you the consumer section with a wealth of useful information. This organization also sponsors Active Aging Week with takes place on September 21 – September 27, 2009.
Alzheimer’s Association – The mission of this organization is “to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.”
AARP is probably one of the most well now organization dedicated to providing resources for older adults.
